About the team

The Core Payments team has been instrumental in Roku's exponential growth in online subscriptions, achieved through an in-streaming, on-TV purchase experience. Core Payments supports various teams across Roku, spanning multiple consumer interfaces, including TV, web, mobile, and advertising. These diverse teams have developed unique strategies for selling digital content access, encompassing Subscription Video on Demand/Transactional Video on Demand (SVOD/TVOD), company-branded devices, and on-device shoppable ads.

About the role

The Senior Product Manager, Payment Optimization, will spearhead initiatives to streamline payment optimization strategies and processes while reducing operational costs. This role requires a blend of analytical prowess, market insight, and a keen understanding of payment ecosystems to drive payment enhancements and cost-effective solutions across our product lines.

What you'll be doing

• Strategy Development: Craft and execute a comprehensive strategy for payment optimization and cost reduction, aligning with the company's broader financial and operational goals.
• Payment Systems Analysis: Conduct in-depth analyses of existing payment infrastructures to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Lead projects focused on reducing transactional costs, negotiating with payment providers, and exploring alternative payment methods that offer lower fees.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with finance, operations, product development, and external partners to implement cost-saving measures without compromising on product quality or user satisfaction.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all payment and cost optimization strategies comply with relevant laws and regulations, minimizing risk to the company.
• Payment Vendor Management: Develop and implement a strategic approach to managing relationships with payment processor vendors. Conduct regular performance evaluations, negotiate contracts, and manage SLAs to ensure vendor alignment with our business objectives.
• Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key metrics to track the effectiveness of payment and cost optimization efforts, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet targets.
• Innovation and Market Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in payment processing and cost management, incorporating best practices into the company’s strategies.

We're excited if you have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on strategy, financial management, payment systems, and cost optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to improve payment operations and reduce costs, supported by measurable outcomes.
• Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling to support decision-making processes.
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful dealings with service providers.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive projects to completion across diverse teams.
• A proactive, innovative thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
