Plaid’s Finance team plays a critical role in intelligently managing our risks and implementing the proper long-term business strategy. You will own technical accounting and financial reporting at Plaid which includes leading our annual financial statement audit and working with business owners across the company to ensure we are properly accounting for new products and initiatives. Over time, you will be responsible for recruiting and managing a small, high-performing team. This role will initially report to the Head of Accounting.

What Excites You

• Serve as a thought partner to team members outside of Finance; proactively review business roadmap with respective stakeholders to ensure technical accounting concerns are addressed
• Research and document our conclusions on all technical accounting matters
• Oversee the annual financial statement auditLead implementation of ASC 842 Leases, including comprehensive review of all existing and new facilities leases
• Own an initial assessment of the Company’s internal controls, including identification of a third-party consultant to complete this assessment
• Maintain and update revenue recognition policy under ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
• Own all aspects of financial reporting, including investor and compliance reporting, implementation of Workiva, and maintenance of chart of account structure in NetSuite

What Excites Us

• 8+ years of experience in technical accounting, including 3+ years of Big Four public accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or certification in process required
• Self-starter with outstanding analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong technical accounting background, including experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842
• Positive attitude and self-motivated team player
• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel
