The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include quarterly bonuses, Long Term Incentive Plan units, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
Austin Base Salary Range: 185,000 - 243,000 USD per year
Your job: The Moderation team is a cross functional team with folks from Engineering, Data Science, Operations and Product working on the shared goal of reducing spam, abuse and low-quality content on our platforms. Along with leaders from Engineering and Operations, you will define the future of your product and what your team should work on In addition, you will influence other product teams at Indeed to plug into our moderation platform. You will be empowered to set ambitious goals for your product and team. Your goals will not be easy to achieve; they should inspire and motivate the team to think big. You will not be compensated based on whether you deliver product features, but whether you have delivered significant business impact.
You will manage and build a team of Product Managers that constantly create hypotheses for improving your product, test them, and learn from the results (see: [1] http://go.indeed.com/data-driven). Our product development philosophy is similar to the Lean Startup philosophy. You will create MVPs, prototypes, incremental rollouts and simple tests to validate ideas and iterate rapidly.
You will sit with your development team and work closely with them on a daily basis. You will define requirements, measure KPIs, track experiments and frequently ship releases. You will do data analysis, whether it’s running queries in MySQL, searching through logs, or using the plethora of in-house tools specially built for the colossal amount of data Indeed gathers (see: [2] http://go.indeed.com/indeed-imhotep).

You have experience in platform integrity, risk mitigation or trust and security. You understand how software development works and are comfortable with a fast pace and managing many concurrent efforts. You have experience managing a team of Product Managers and ideally experience working with a large cross functional team. Most of all, you love solving hard technical challenges to make a difference in the lives of other people, whether they be job seekers, employers or your fellow Indeedians.
Requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of product management experience in risk management, content moderation, or fraud prevention.
- Previous experience managing Product Managers, preferred experience building a team of Product Managers.
- Conceptual understanding of large distributed systems.
- Experience making complex data-driven business decisions.
- Experience collaborating with large cross-functional teams.
- Ability to drive, contribute to, and communicate solutions to technical product challenges.
- Outstanding data analysis skills. * Proven leadership skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
