Job Description
Intern, Project Management – 12 months
Location: Staines
Duration: 12 months
The Junior Project Manager Intern will provide support to Senior Project Managers on complex internal or customer facing projects. The role will focus on taking responsibility for many of the Project management administrative responsibilities as well as be actively involved in supporting delivery at all stages of a project.
The intern will receive substantial guidance, feedback, and mentoring from the team to help improve their Project Management skills in a technology environment. The intern will also have the opportunity to independently manage lower risk projects in order to consolidate and improve their skills. VMware Project delivery methodology, PRINCE2 and technology training will be provided as part of the on-going training.
Responsibilities :
- Work alongside and under the guidance of Senior Project Managers in the day to day delivery of complex projects in the UK or Europe
- Manage the creation, update and distribution of project collateral such as project plans, RAG logs, Communication plans, Timesheets, Project Briefs and scheduled reports
- Ensure project objectives and deliverables for your own projects are fully agreed, documented, supported and agreed by the key stakeholders
- Directly handle clients and internal stakeholders to communicate project scope, status, billing schedules
- Manage project budgets by tracking team time and progress
- Develop long term relationships and trust with clients and colleagues
Candidate Profile:
- A desire and ability to ‘get stuck in’ and make a difference
- A sociable individual with first-class communication skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Motivated and organized person who is a self-starter and can multi-task
- Basic understanding of information technology and its use in business
- Ability to think outside the box and take ownership of tasks
- Available to travel to European destinations if required
- Knowledge of other European languages would be a plus, although not required
