Job Description
As the Risk Operations Manager, Buyer Risk, you are the expert on buyers’ experiences (and misbehavior) on SeatGeek, and lead our efforts to mitigate our fraud exposure while reducing pain points for good buyers. You make impact by leading the strategic planning for your subteam and developing a team of talented agents. You drive operational opportunities for improvement, help maintain SeatGeek as a trusted platform and build strong relationships with relevant teams and vendors. What you’ll do
The Buyer Risk Manager will oversee everything from mitigating payment fraud and promo abuse to addressing wider security or trust and safety concerns affecting buyers on SeatGeek.
- Use operational and management experience to develop and grow our talented organization
- Create, refine and monitor performance metrics for the team and individuals
- Take a data-driven approach to making decisions
- Advocate for product, tooling and workflow improvements with an equal focus on ensuring good buyers have great experiences as mitigating bad behavior
- Work cross-functionally with other teams in the development and execution of workflows and policies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors and outside partners
- Develop expertise in your vertical to stay on top of trends in fraud and compliance both within SeatGeek and in the industry
What you have
- 3+ years working around trust and safety, risk, payments, or fraud, including industry knowledge and expertise
- 1+ years people management experience in tech or other high-growth environment
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating across teams
- Experience dealing with vendors or third-parties
- A passion for coaching with patience and professionalism
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to use judgment and focus in ambiguous or high-stress situations
- Comfortable making decisions that balance customer empathy and SeatGeek’s best interests
- Creative and solutions-oriented
