Within RTI International’s Education & Workforce Development unit, the Center for Education Services (CES) focuses on building the skills and professional capacity of educators to overcome challenges, improve practice, and sustain high performance. From the classroom to the boardroom, we focus on four areas that we believe are levers for change in education: strengthening instruction, developing leadership, improving organizational operations, and facilitating collaborative networks.
The Center for Education Services has an immediate opening for a Research Education Analyst (Education Consultant) to provide development and design support for social and emotional learning and related client services. This position is a telecommuter position, with the option to work in RTP at headquarters if desired.
Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver social and emotional learning client services that include:
- Professional learning concerning tiered systems of support for students
- School-based mental health support
- Trauma-informed instruction
- School counselor development
- Research and recommend evidence-based tools and strategies that advance social and emotional learning
- Support business proposals that incorporate social and emotional learning, tiered systems of support, school counselor professional development, etc.
- Lead CES coaching, consulting, and network operations by:
- Preparing client-facing project deliverables such as presentations and reports
- Traveling to assigned locations to support direct service delivery with clients
- Observing, collecting, and analyzing relevant educational data
- Ensuring project deliverables are of high quality and delivered within scope
- Contribute to advancement of internal initiatives and ongoing continuous improvement efforts
- Participate in internal meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field and at least 6 years of K-12 counseling experience. Equivalent experience equals a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience; with 6 years being K-12 counseling experience.
- Ability to facilitate professional learning development with adult learning principles;
- Ability to manage competing, complex tasks;
- Ability to accept and provide constructive feedback and incorporate adjustments to professional practice;
- “Client first” disposition evidenced by flexibility, humility and commitment to public service;
- Ability to work independently and with teams in a fast-paced work environment;
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 30%;
- Comfort with facilitating and presenting in front of groups;
- Advanced written communication and organization skills;
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for visa status.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in clinical mental health counseling
- Experience working with special education/ exceptional childres
- Experience with MTSS
