Techstars Lead Operations Associate - Techstars Sports Accelerator Powered by Indy Interested in becoming an associate for Techstars Sports? You will help build the next amazing batch of sportstech startups, as they grow from early stage to venture-backed companies. From entrepreneurs, to investors, to mentors, your network is about to explode beyond all reasonable comprehension. You will have the opportunity to sit in on mentor meetings and get to know the best entrepreneurs and investors in the city. You will also have access to full involvement in Techstars social events with the founders and local community.
It’s basically a chance to get amazing experience, broaden your network in ways you could never imagine and get exposure to some of the greatest up and coming companies and teams in the country. Historically, most associates end up being employed by one of the teams or by someone they met during the span of the three months. Many also go on to build their own companies.
About Techstars Sports The Techstars Sports Accelerator will have a key focus on innovation with goals to foster early identification of key trends for future technology in sport; meaningful engagement with early-stage sports tech companies; embrace technologies and business models that will impact the sports industry; and enhance a culture of internal innovation and the spirit of entrepreneurship.
General Job Description Tasks will include assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Techstars program, and assisting the Techstars Managing Director and Program Manager in ensuring that all needs of the program, and its cohort are met. Examples of responsibilities: identifying needs and preparing for upcoming events, organizing meetings, coordinating group and running logistics for special guest mentor visits, taking meeting notes, and setting up office space for events.
Applicant Description - You should be a hyper-organized and detail-oriented self-starter with experience in operations and/or events
- Demonstrated interest in technology, startups, entrepreneurship, venture capital, etc.
- Willing to commit to the equivalent of a full-time position for a three-month time period and available days, evenings, or basically whenever needed. Schedule is flexible but a strong commitment is expected
- Able to jump in and complete any task quickly and effectively
- Be a problem solver and effective communicator
- Have a great attitude, desire to learn and meet new people, lots of energy and enthusiasm
- Scared of no task and be willing to take on any project, large or small
- Currently live in the Indianapolis area or would be willing to live here for the duration of the program.
- This is a temporary position, beginning in June and running through second week of September and will pay a stipend
