We’re hiring a Lead User Researcher to help us build products that transform the way consumers pay for their purchases and help retailers grow their businesses. As a researcher at Bread, you’ll launch features that generate measurable impact while also helping us level-up our craft. You’ll be part of a close-knit Product and Design team that plays an important role in shaping the future of Bread.
Your role at Bread
- Work with product managers and designers to assess project needs and develop appropriate research plans to support their objectives
- Conduct on-site, remote, and in-field studies with current and prospective Bread merchants and customers
- Provide usability and value tests for products under development
- Work closely with data analysts to integrate qualitative research methods with ongoing quantitative research such as surveys, A/B, and multivariate testing
- Share tangible findings and prioritized recommendations with the teams on a regular basis
- Evangelize methodological rigor, standards for research in Bread’s product development, and across the company
- Manage third-party research vendors as necessary
What we are looking for
Must have:
- 5+ years of experience in user experience research, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative methods
- Strong collaboration skills and solid instincts about when to hold the line on methodological rigor and when to adapt to the changing demands of a project
- Strong sense of curiosity and desire to represent the voice of our customers
- You demonstrate an in-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, user-centered design principles, and a solid grasp of contemporary trends in Web and app design
- Can hold your own in a meeting and present with a customer-centric POV
- Are self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- 4-year college degree or equivalent education, training or experience
- Experience working on both B2B and B2C products
Nice to have:
- Have a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors or a related discipline
- E-commerce or financial services experience
- Experience with SQL, Qualtrics, remote testing tools, communication design
- UX Design experience and relevant portfolio
