Job Description
The Senior Program Manager for the Brigade Network's Eastern Region is a central role in our mission to build a government for the people, by the people, in the digital age. They are a visionary who knows how to bring audacious plans to life and also a tactician who can organize people and projects that get results. The Senior Brigade Program Manager is responsible for our volunteer management and mobilization in their region, primarily through our Brigade Network. They’ll be key to building and leveraging the people power we need to restore faith in our public institutions and ensure they live up to the promise of our democracy.
This position is a perfect fit for an experienced organizer who knows how to empower others and rally them behind shared goals. They are a natural leader with strong management skills, with a knack for inspiring trust and action. The Senior Program Manager will be a master of volunteer recruitment and retention strategy; volunteer training, management and organizing; and will be charged with strengthening our Brigade Network under a bold mandate for movement building and impact. This person is a peer to the Senior Program Manager of the Western Region, and this position reports to the Senior Program Director for the Brigade Network.
The Senior Program Manager will:
- Recruit, train, and support Brigade leaders in their region
- Create projects, trainings, resources, and actions for Brigade leaders and members with an emphasis on impact and capacity building
- Develop and implement a regional partnership strategy with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Organize regional and national events, trainings, and workshops, both in-person and remotely
- Assist in developing and implementing Network-wide program goals and strategy
- Draft communications including emails, blogs, online resources, presentations, trainings, and one-pagers;
- Manage portions program budget and logistics in coordination with the Senior Program Director
- Represent the Brigade Network program internally and externally, including with funders; Serve as liaison between Brigade leaders and other program and product team staff
- Identify goals, track metrics, develop impact measures, and report on results
- Help manage a Network Volunteer Coordinator in a matrix structure, and support them in providing excellent infrastructure to volunteers (e.g. sending physical materials, expense tracking and approval, event logistics)
- Travel to Brigade sites other community events in their region, with a focus on capacity building (Ability to travel up to 25% of the time).
Each Senior Program Manager will also own special projects across the Network, such as Brigade Day at Summit, Brigade Congress, National Day of Civic Hacking, and NAC onboarding.

Your Record:
- 5+ years experience in 21st century grassroots organizing and mobilizing, with experience working increasingly leadership-oriented positions to build people power;
- Experience managing and coaching staff and volunteers to hit ambitious goals, developing people all the while;
- Comfortable speaking in large groups, facilitating meetings and delivering presentations;
- Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal skills who will work collaboratively and effectively as a member of a distributed team;
- Experience with meeting preparation including agenda setting, materials preparation and logistical considerations;
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced work environment, staying calm and upbeat while working under pressure and with tight deadlines; and
- A commitment to integrity, inclusion, compassion, and totally crushing it on the job.
