The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
The Manager for Strategy and Business Development is a key member of the strategy and business development team. They develop, evaluate, monitor and improve the SCCA strategic plan and performance, lead and support development of SCCA's management system, and actively participate in business development opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Work with the team and senior leadership to understand external environmental factors, internal performance in the development and ongoing refinement of SCCA strategic plan, representing the clinical oncology aspirations and plan for the Alliance
- Identify, prioritize and resource key initiatives needed to accomplish the strategic goals of the SCCA
- Serve as the process owner to ensure success measures are defined; ongoing monitoring of systems to track progress; and accountability is clearly defined
- Lead and support ongoing development, advocacy and adoption of SCCA's management system
- Manage oversight and governance committees and processes at various levels in support of strategic goals (e.g., SIC, PPOC, COOC, SMT, Halvorson, NWH, UW Oncology)
- Work collaboratively with leadership and colleagues in the SCCA, Fred Hutch, University of Washington Medicine, Seattle Children's as well as external organization in partnership with the SCCA
- Directs assigned personnel as well as guides and closely collaborates with personnel in the execution of assigned responsibilities
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or equivalent
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to lead and motivate teams to desired outcomes
- Project management and organizational skills
- Analytic skills - ability to translate data into usable information
- Ability to facilitate groups of leaders
Preferred:
- Ability to develop and enroll others in a strategic direction
- Ability to identify and approach a given challenge or problem and to generate confidence in the approach chosen and engage leaders to secure their participation
