Your Opportunity
Do you want to be part of a Cloud Engineering team writing software to manage cloud operations for a leading financial firm with over $3.0 trillion in assets under management?
As Software Engineer in the Cloud Engineering Group you will write software to build, maintain and automate Schwab’s Private Cloud infrastructure. You are comfortable working up and down the stack and can jump between languages based on best fit for the problem at hand. You are a great problem solver and experienced in tackling difficult problems.
You’ll operate in both the development and systems world, writing software that manages the systems and applications that we support for our internal customers. You won’t work on tiny widgets inside a giant application. You will own projects with a direct impact on our Cloud platforms, applications and users.
What you’re good at
- Leading DevOps focused Software Engineering team.
- Building and maintaining tools, solutions and microservices to automate platform operations.
- Automating setup and monitoring of platform servers and components.
- Troubleshooting and optimizing issues at every level of the stack.
- Designing and building new self-service APIs, web portals, and CLIs
- Actively troubleshooting any issues that arise during testing and production, catching and solving issues before launch.
- Managing code deployments, fixes, updates and related processes.
- Working with open-source technologies as needed.
- Staying current with industry trends and source new ways for our business to improve.

Requirements
- You are smart and get things done
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in a Software Engineer role (5+ Years)
- Experience in software development and platform automation.
- Experience with open-source technologies and cloud services.
- Strong communication skills.
- Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems.
- Solid team player.
- Ability to work and collaborate across geographical and organizational barriers.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
