Description
The primary responsibility of the employee is to supervise, train and direct the custodial operations on the 2nd and 3rd shift for our client across our Education Line of Business.
Job Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Demonstrates a professional image consistent with the values of the school district and ARAMARK Facility Services.
- Establish and maintain a positive relationship with employees, building administration and staff.
- Demonstrates flexibility to adapt to diverse situations and utilizes critical thinking to provide solutions in resolving potential problems.
- Demonstrate and promote a strong team environment within the department.
- Make recommendations to the Custodial Manager/High School Facility Manager regarding staffing schedule changes as needed.
- Perform initial orientation/training, assessment of development and follow up training as assigned.
- Communicate goals and objectives for professional and personal development to Custodial Manager.
- Respond to phone calls/text/email 24/7 as necessary.
- Demonstrate and advocate a safety culture.
CUSTODIAL
- Works with the Head Custodians and other Assistant Managers to guarantee the cleanliness of assigned buildings.
- Implement the annual training schedule addressing safety and technical skills.
- Maintain training records for all employees.
- Monitor employees work performance through annual performance reviews.
- Provide on-going training, coaching and corrective actions as needed to address performance supported with proper documentation
- Maintain attendance records, benefit time and verify timecards prior to payroll submission as directed.
- Work with other Assistant Managers to provide supervisory coverage for areas of responsibility as needed.
- Manage overtime within budget guidelines and as directed.
- Participates in weekly meeting with the Custodial Manager.
- Act as a resource person for cleaning floors, walls, furniture and other building furnishings.
- Act as a resource person for the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- Monitor set-ups for events and that buildings are appropriately covered.
- Monitor the policing and maintenance of grounds. i.e. snow removal.
- Monitor the security of the buildings and activation/deactivation of the alarm systems.
- Perform buildings inspections to monitor performance and quality.
- Complete safe briefs and observations as directed.
- Manage work comp process
- Other duties as assigned including but not limited to:
- Monthly News Letter
- Coordinate floor team activities
- Assist with all aspects of the hiring process as needed
- Assist with the development of the Annual Training Calendar
- Annual update of SDS materials
Qualifications
- Two to three years previous experience
- Ability to bend, lift and move objects in excess of 60#
- Ability to work on a ladder or high places
- Ability to work with hazardous materials
- Must pass background and drug screenings
- Must have ability to communicate with a diverse work group
- Must be reliable and have an excellent attendance record
- Must have the ability to multi task
- Basic computer skills
