Engineering Planner II will support the creation and implementation of new employee development initiatives for IIS Engineering employees. This includes supporting the creation of mentoring curricula, critical role career pathing analysis, maintaining metrics of critical role talent pools, and cataloging employee resources/certifications/training material. Other associated duties include creating budget estimates for these Engineering initiatives and monitoring budget use. This role will require independent research of development materials, as well as analysis of existing Engineering talent pools against future need to determine talent gaps.
This role will be responsible for the project management of a subset of existing and newly created Engineering performance development (PD) initiative portfolio. This will include budget coordination with Engineering leadership, participant metrics, ensuring goals are met on time and within budget, and troubleshooting participant issues as they arise.
The
Engineering Planner II will create and maintain data lists, enrollments, and metrics of new and existing IIS Engineering PD initiatives. This includes measuring talent pools and critical role incumbents, and maintaining official lists of mentor relationships for mentoring initiatives. In addition, this role will manage email communications with individual participants, including changes in program participation (new enters, exits, changes), verification of participant funding from leadership, and distribution of career development materials participants.
This position will be located at the Richardson, TX (Cityline) site.
Required Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (email, telephone); experience interfacing with managers and other technical leaders
- Excellent organizational skills, able to manage and synthesize data across Mission Areas and Disciplines
- Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint) experience
- Ability to coordinate needs and resolve issues across a geographically-dispersed workforce
Desired Skills:
- 2 years’ experience in performance/career development, talent development, learning, or training management.
- Experience with metrics, data analytics, data visualization, modeling, and statistics
- Familiarity with workforce planning and labor forecasting tools, program management tools (e.g. Microsoft Project) and financial systems
- Qualified R6-sigma specialist
Required Education (including Major):
- A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a closely related STEM field obtained in the last 18 months or by Spring 2020.
- A Bachelor’s Degree meeting the above degree requirements with 2+ years of experience can also be considered for the G07 level.
