Want to help Rakuten Rewards turn marketing analytics into a competitive strength? This is an opportunity to lead an analytics and business intelligence discipline focused on providing deeper insight into the Rakuten Rewards marketing program. You’ll be working collaboratively with the marketing team, supporting on-going marketing efforts and bringing in critical thinking to help drive acquisition and retention. You’ll be tackling some unique complexities due to the scale, nature, and complexity of the Rakuten Rewards business model, and you’ll have open access to some amazing, untapped, data sets. This is a hands-on leadership role, so you’ll be bringing a mix of analysis, data science, data modeling, team management, and project management to the table. This role is perfect for a highly accomplished, data-driven marketer/analyst looking for a new and exciting challenge. You’ll will be responsible for enabling the marketing team to excel - by leading projects to store and analyze more comprehensive data sets, by managing projects to develop attribution models and algorithms, and by building ever better reporting interfaces and tools for use by the marketing team. This is a new role and for the right person, it will be a superb opportunity to make vital contribution in a fascinating role.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead marketing analytics, within the broader business intelligence team at Rakuten Rewards
  • Support the marketing and consumer analytics teams by supplying data from internal databases and building/enhancing reporting tools
  • Project manage the development of data models and algorithms to make acquisition marketing assessment more sophisticated and profitable
  • Help to drive a unified vision of reporting, testing, and financial evaluation for acquisition marketing program
  • Implement an internal program for measuring the combined impact of offline and online acquisition efforts, coordinating with third party providers and tools as necessary
  • Coordinate cross team projects with other business units to offer a more comprehensive understanding of acquisition and retention marketing within the company as a whole

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a marketing analyst for a multi-channel online marketing program
  • Experience working for an eCommerce website
  • Experience analyzing the combined impact of online and offline acquisition marketing, especially SEM and TV advertising
  • Experience querying large databases to retrieve information on acquisition and retention marketing programs
  • Experience either managing or leading a team of marketing analysts
  • Experience managing or coordinating the use of data science models within an acquisition marketing program
  • Experience developing new reports and dashboards to support an acquisition marketing program
  • Experience communicating analyses and fielding questions from executive team members
  • 6 plus years of experience working as a marketing analyst
  • Expert in SQL
  • Experience establishing new database and business intelligence systems
  • Experience with cross team project management
  • Experience with reporting tools (Tableau preferred)
  • Knowledge of Snowflake a plus
  • Knowledge of Python a plus
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
