Marketing and PR Manager

Job Description

Ueno ’ s Marketing and PR Manager is responsible for all of our marketing and public relations efforts. This is a freelance position. You may have heard that Ueno is pretty great. (Okay, you probably heard it from us. That doesn’t mean it’s not true.) But, believe it or not, apparently there are still people out there who don’t know how great we are. You could say it's a problem. Or — hear us out — is it more like — wait for it — an opportunity? If you are the kind of person who thinks so, then you might be who we’re looking for. Let’s see. We’re looking for someone who will:

• Work with our beloved leaders to shape the goals, strategies, and tactics that will make more people know how great we are
• Take charge of the lead funnels on ueno.co (and explain to our CEO what “lead funnels” are)
• Make sure someone always stuffs our content channels — our blog , our newsletter , our website , and our Twitter , Instagram and everything else — with goodies that will make everyone love us
• Use their finely honed public relations skills to tell our story in the media
• Bring people together — our clients, or our community, or both — by creating the kinds of great events that people love to attend
• Help make our Uenoland conference, the best Uenoland conference in the world
• Figure out what awards we should be getting, how to get them, and who to blame if we don’t
• Help us maintain and evolve our voice, and help us use it to talk about what we believe, what we can do, and what makes us different
• Find good things to sponsor and good places to advertise
• Partner with our clients on launch stories when the stuff we’ve worked on with them goes live
You know, someone who:
• Has done marketing-related things at a creative agency for at least three years (not that the number of years is what matters)
• Has first-hand experience with public relations
• Knows all about social media, email marketing and event planning
• Is an excellent writer, and knows how to tell stories in all kinds of ways and in all kinds of contexts
• Has experience with marketing and/or advertising publications
• Are a highly organized multi-tasking many-hat-wearer
• Wants to help Ueno grow, and wants to grow with us
