Modeling Team - Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack

WHAT WE'VE GOT GOING ON The Model Development Team is responsible for the LookML language which powers the entire data platform, in-database transformations, exposing the data model, and the SQL generation pipeline. We are seeking a full-stack engineer to help our users leverage increasingly powerful database technologies and integrate with ETL tools. The ideal candidate is passionate about programming languages, data pipelines and seeks to empower the next generation of business intelligence, data analytics and applications.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

• Lead projects related to data movement and transformation from design through development.
• Provide seamless support for integrating Looker modeled data in data pipelines and data workflows.
• Exemplify technical excellence in collaborative planning, implementation and review of code.
• Drive technical discussions regarding application architecture in support of high quality and maintainability of complex systems.
• Empathize with and improve the lives of customers and your peers.

WHAT YOU BRING TO LOOKER

• Minimum six years of professional software development.
• Background developing scalable systems, comprehensive applications and intuitive interfaces.
• Experience crafting clean, maintainable, and performant client/server applications using two or more of Javascript/Typescript, React, Ruby, Kotlin/JavaEnthusiasm for language development and database/information technologies.
• Passion for manipulating data and making it accessible.
