What We’re Looking for

At Later, we take development seriously! Our tech stack consists of our core Ruby on Rails app and several NodeJS services. All members of our founding team come from a technical background, ensuring development practices and technology investments are thoughtful and strategic.

We are looking to add collaborative software developers to our team who want to make a real difference for our user base of hundreds of thousands of small businesses. We believe in documentation, test-driven development, continuous integration, one-click deployments, and meaningful code reviews. All code written at Later is impactful and is pushed out multiple times a day .

Responsibilities

• Work in our iterative, agile software development process
• Develop software for our large-scale web application (handling over a quarter million uploads a day) - having the opportunity to work on our core API and analytics services
• Design and write well-structured, easily maintainable, well-documented, and thoroughly-tested code
• Conduct code reviews with other members of the dev team to main maintain high coding standards
• Work with our Product and Design teams to help scope and plan product features
• Collaborate and work with our Customer Success team to better understand our users needs and how our product could better meet their needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or equivalent experience
• 4+ years experience in software development in team environment
• Experience with architectural tradeoffs; have had to defend your opinions on architecture
• 3+ years experience in NodeJS
• Bonus: Experience or knowledge of Amazon Web Services
