BorrowLenses is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and energetic Shipping Supervisor! This position heads a team of 6 employees and reports to the site manager. They will work a swing shift from 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm . You will lead the shipping department in their daily tasks, including unloading delivery trucks, unboxing inventory, and picking, shipping and packaging orders. This position will lead East Coast shipping strategy and partner with their bi-coastal counterpart and the site manager to create overall department direction. The shipping supervisor balances completing the day-to-day, developing their team, working with leadership on projects, and partnering with co-workers to improve overall warehouse efficiency.

Duties:

• Oversee three primary shipping department functions: picking, shipping, and boxing.
• Build, develop, and lead a flexible highly functional team.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve company objectives.
• Approve timecards
• Schedule and lead regular one-on-one meetings with your team that include individual updates, ideas, improvement points, setting goals, and recognizing jobs well done.
• Hold consistent performance appraisals. This includes pulling and analyzing metrics of individual/team performance.
• Provide hard and soft skill development for employees. Use BL’s tier system as a guideline.

Experience required:

• 2-5 years in shipping & receiving or similar field
• 1-2 years of people management with a team of 5 people or more
• BA/BS preferred
• Excel proficiency
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Nice to have experience:

• Photo/video experience preferred
• Experience with forecasting and ordering shipping supplies in line with company budgets.
• Experience with UPS, FedEx, and other methods of delivery from courier to LTL.
• Experience with inbound and outbound shipments
