JOB SUMMARY:
Applanix is a provider of inertial navigation systems (INS) and autonomy perception technologies to a variety of applications from mobile surveys to autonomous vehicles aiding across various industries.
The Engineering Intern will work closely with a dynamic team of engineers and developers to support the development of Applanix products. Tasks will include software development, code refactoring, as well as testing and verification. Engineering or Computer Science students with interests in navigation technologies, autonomy software stacks (with focus on sensing, navigation, perception), and geomatics, and should apply. Applanix is located in the north of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Perks include free lunchtime yoga classes, and on-site recreation facilities with indoor soccer, tennis, and basketball courts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Code improvement and refactoring
• Testing dataset management
• Creating test procedures and automation of tests
• Perform various V&V (verification and validation), DVT (design verification) tests, and other functional tests as part of the productization process
• Assist in testing of new software and hardware prototypes
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current university enrollment in an engineering (computer, electronics, mechatronics) or computer science program
• Experience programming with modern C++ (at least 11) and knowledgeable in good coding practices
• Experience with a scripting language (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl) would be beneficial
• Experience with real-time embedded programming an asset
• Methodical with attention to detail
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and being a team player
• Enthusiasm towards mathematics, geomatics and/or autonomous vehicle technologies.
