INTERN JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW At Zenysis, roles aren’t limited to narrowly scoped duties. With responsibilities ranging from business development, strategic communications, market research and general administrative support, the Intern will need to be both organized and nimble. A large portion of the Intern’s role will support the business development and communications teams with administrative tasks; however, the Intern will also play a key role in curating business development leads and partnerships, supporting social media and other communications efforts, and strengthening knowledge management processes for the business development team. The Intern should be ready to take on routine administrative tasks as well as dynamic, ad-hoc and more complex tasks. The position is required for a period of 14 - 16 weeks with possibility of extension or transition to a part-time or full-time position with benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Development (70%): - Support capture and live business development efforts on proposal teams. Coordinate inputs to proposal development and contribute directly to proposals by undertaking background research and developing proposal materials such as capability statements, staff profiles, use cases, among others;
- Provide administrative support for partnership development and relationship management;
- Monitor, track, and document business forward market through external resources (e.g. USG: beta.sam.gov, World Bank Portal, Foundation websites);
- Organize and support BD staff at virtual events or virtual conferences;
- Support company wide recruitment efforts through implementing standardized SOPs and supporting the creation of policy manuals.
- Maintain a cloud-based filing system for scalable growth
- Update customer relationship management (CRM) tools and/or utilize and update excel trackers.
Communications (30%):- Support administration of Zenysis social media accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook), monitor partner accounts, develop content, and post on a daily/weekly basis;
- Support knowledge management and organization of internal communications resources using Google Drive and project management tools;
- Track global public health and global development conferences and events and manage application processes for speaking opportunities;
- Support content development for conferences, webinars and speaking opportunities.

You pride yourself on knowing when and where your team needs you most, and you rise to the occasion with flexibility and speed.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information science, public health, international affairs, international development, communications, public affairs, or related discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Writing samples in multiple formats will be required. Past experience with business development, fundraising, and/or strategic communications and social media campaigns preferred.
- Demonstrated success in paying attention to details, quality standards, and time management while juggling a myriad of tasks and deadlines.
- Genuine interest in technology and its application in the international development space demonstrated through your academic background, hands-on experience or affiliated work in design, business development, operations, policy, product, or project management. Familiarity with global health and international development donors, such as USAID, CDC, The Gates Foundation, The Global Fund, GAVI, DFID, etc. preferred.
- Self-starter, who turns ambiguity into action by acknowledging what you know and don’t know; prior experience developing solutions to complex problems in a team environment is preferred.
- Diplomacy skills and confidence to work with colleagues, partners, donors, public officials and program beneficiaries at all organizational levels, domestically and internationally.
- Ability to work remotely from home.
- Desire to be supervised by a colleague who is as interested in your growth and learning as s/he is in your performance.
