Senior Machine Learning Research Manager

In Capital One’s Center for Machine Learning, you’ll be using your knowledge to solve business problems across multiple important domains. Our Applied Research team develops novel applications of cutting-edge ML to create the future of financial services. You’ll be leading a team of researchers working in innovation areas that are critical for the future of the industry. These may include computer vision, representation learning, explainability, fairness, machine learning on graphs, Bayesian deep learning, AutoML, and any other topics that you feel are critical. Your work will result in both important impact in core business areas as well as in publications and open source projects.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 3 years of managerial experience
• At least 5 years of experience with Python, C++ or Scala
• At least 5 years of experience with framework such as Tensorflow, Torch, PyMC3, or Stan
• At least 3 years experience applying statistical methods and Machine Learning algorithms
• At least 3 years experience conducting Machine Learning research in academia or industry

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Math, Physics, or related field
• 5+ years experience solving concrete business problems with novel applications of Machine Learning
