WHAT WE DO

Postmates relies heavily on our engineering team to realize this vision. Building a software platform that is reliable, scales, and stays agile under demanding product needs is a serious technical challenge. Postmates is a three-part balancing act connecting customers, merchants, and couriers in real-time. If any piece is out of whack, the whole system suffers. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Solidworks 3D CAD mechanical design, testing, integration, and prototyping of components
• Develop design to ensure serviceability, manufacturability and other performance attributes for the robots
• Ensure design compliance with internal requirements
• Develop and build prototypes and run tests to measure their level of function
• Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance and efficiency standards

OUR REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5+ years mechanical engineering experience
  
  • Solidworks CAD Proficiency is a must
    
• Robotics design, and/or experience with some or all of the following:
  
  • Mechanism design
    
  • Motion control
    
  • Sensor integration
    
  • Battery power management
    
  • Camera integration
    
  • Lighting
• Experience designing parts via the following manufacturing process
  
  • CNC milling and turning
    
  • Sheet metal
    
  • Injection molding
    
  • Casting
    
  • Rapid Prototyping technologies
    
• Experience working with hand tools, hardware, and assembly
  
• Creation and management of highly detailed and functional 3D models and detailed mechanical drawings
  
• Experience seeing a product through from design to manufacturing is strongly desired
  
• Experience working with Industrial Design teams is a plus
