We are looking for an experienced and passionate Human Resources leader to fulfill an important executive function at Galvanize.The main focus of this role is to maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices to ensure a great employee and manager experience across all People Operations programs.A key aid to accomplishing all the below will be the support of a larger HR team from Galvanize’s parent company, K12 in the form of pre-created processes and staff augmentation, amongst other vehicles of support.
What You’ll Do:- Lead and manage the human resources functions of our People & Culture Team, which supports 350+ employees across 8 Galvanize campuses.
- Maintain human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Leads key Human Resource KPI's/metrics (recruiting, engagement, development, retention, etc.) for the department and reports said metrics to the executive team on a regular cadence.
- Drive all internal HR efforts including onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, change management, employee communication, immigration, leaves of absence, and offboarding, etc. with support from Centers of Excellence and Shared Services teams
- Continually research industry and Human Resources trends to ensure the implementation of best practices are aligned with tech industry standards
- Provide counsel, guidance, assistance and coaching to executives, leaders and managers during complex employee relations situations across all geographies
- Maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, functional peers and industry groups to enhance business effectiveness
Talent Acquisition:- Develop & deploy a comprehensive talent acquisition and retention plans to meet human capital needs and enable the growth of the business.
- Maintain the org structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
- Support organizational growth by establishing a standard recruiting, testing, and interviewing process; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive new hire orientation and onboarding process that ensures employee success, and retention.
- Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
Talent Development:- Develop and deploy an organizational review process that evaluates structure, competency, knowledge, and talent gaps and develop specific strategies to fill the gaps.
- Develop and deploy a learning and development program to ensure that employees are learning and growing to ensure the success of the organization, and for personal & professional development.
- Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
- Recommend talent management and succession planning initiatives to ensure business objectives: increase the organization’s human capital, accelerate development & retention of key talent, increase investor returns
Total Rewards:- Partner with Galvanize CEO and Total Rewards Center of Excellence to establish and maintain benefits and compensation programs that support Galvanize’s culture and business objectives.
- Develop a comprehensive total rewards strategy to ensure talent attraction and retention
Compliance, Legal & Regulatory:- Ensure that all HR policies and programs are compliant with the regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction
- Ensure that our human resource policies, practices, and programs support the business strategy, management principles, legal commitments core values, and our culture
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
- Protect the interests of the company by ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, globally
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on human resources issues/trends and evolving legislation that may impact the business, planning accordingly for the company to respond to these trends/developments as they occur, communicate changes in company policies and practices to leadership and broader employee population

- Collaborate with the executive team to craft/refine the company’s vision, mission, and culture, and ensure continuity of culture globally• Act as a role model for company culture
- Develop & deploy annual employee engagement calendar including but not limited to; All-Hands, engagement surveys, learning & development, manager training, diversity, equity & inclusion training, communication strategy, etc.
Required Qualifications: - 5-7 years of Human Resource experience
- Demonstrated experience building out a people and culture function in a growing organization while also supporting the overall growth of the organization
- Extensive knowledge of HR practices, laws, and regulations in a multi-state environment
- Rock-solid communication skills, both verbal and written – people skills are a must!
- Ability to effectively influence, build trust, communicate and interact with all levels of the organization
- Proven self-starter with foresight that is able to analyze issues and provide solutions
- Metrics-driven with an analytical mindset
- Must be able to think and act strategically, but also be willing to roll up your sleeve
- Outstanding execution and project management skills
- Excellent leadership, people management and organizational development skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate in a team-oriented and collaborative work environment, and promote, foster and build a diverse and inclusive workforce.
- Self-sufficient and capable of liaising with the executive team, including comfortability building and delivering executive-level presentations.
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and reporting skills, as well as experience identifying, tracking, and improving key performance indicators.
Nice to Have Qualifications: - Previous experience integrating HR systems pre/post-acquisition
- DEI leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective organizational strategies, programs, and learning opportunities.
- A proven track record of influencing, inspiring team members, and coaching in the areas of leadership and DEI and experience playing a consultative and facilitator role for internal teams on topics such as inclusive leadership, unconscious bias, equity, dimensions of diversity, social identity, and creating a culture of learning.
