Job Description

This position, in collaboration with the patient safety and regulatory team, is responsible for planning implementing and ongoing operation of an effective inpatient and ambulatory patient safety and regulatory program. With managerial oversight, this individual will be responsible for facilitating patient safety activities to include coordination of Serious Event activities, reporting to the Washington State Dept of Health (DOH), and proactive patient safety responsibilities.

  • Manage Overlake Event Reporting System (OARS) and Management of Overlake policies and procedures system (Lucidoc) as well as MyRounding. Running and analyzing reports and reporting to regulatory bodies as appropriate.
  • Coordinates activities related to the DOH and JC reporting of Sentinel and Adverse events
  • Collaborates with the development of patient safety and regulatory corrective action plans; provides monitoring of effectiveness, implementation and data management assistance as needed to ensure successful completion of action plan.
  • Provides project management and problem solving for process improvement initiatives
  • Implements system wide patient safety and regulatory improvements under the direction of the Manager of Patient Safety and Regulatory to include High Reliability training.
  • Develops, analyzes, and prepares data including executive summary reports and other reporting formats via committee structures as assigned.

Part Time – 0.75 FTE

(60 hours per pay period)

Temporary Role – anticipated duration October 2020 - February 2021

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. BSN preferred.
  • Must maintain licensure as appropriate to profession.
  • Requires a minimum of four years acute or ambulatory care experience. Previous risk management, patient safety, regulatory or quality experience preferred.
  • Training or experience in Patient Safety, Performance Improvement and Regulatory working with outside regulatory agencies preferred. Prefer certification in Just Culture, Disclosure and TeamSTEPP’s Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access.
