The Vancouver team is chartered to develop mobile, software applications and SDKs for Rivian products and composed of developers of all backgrounds with experience in IOS, Android, SDKs, IoT, Bluetooth, and Security... and we are growing! Outside of work our team is chock full of adventure seekers in all senses of the phrase. But the most adventurous thing we have all done recently is jump ship from the safety of corporate jobs to come together and become Rivian Vancouver As a Senior Engineer, you will support a key part of the backend infrastructure for mobile frontend needs.

THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Play a significant role for Rivian by architecting and designing APIs, data models for vehicle management infrastructure such as remote control, real-time dashboard, access management, etc. that will impact future vehicle and software technologies, roadmaps across the company as well as helping us minimize our carbon footprint.
• Analyze cloud products and API documentation to design and build integrations and additional functionality
• Data processing, search indexing, API layer.
• Code standards, code reviews, technical planning/research, testing/QA.
• Investigate and resolve bugs/customer issues.
• Assist in scoping, estimating, and planning of projects
• Cross-function with backend, frontend, customer support and other areas

THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• At least 5 years of experience with: REST, Python, Java, SQL, NoSQL, GraphQL.
• Firm knowledge in AWS and/or GCP
• Ability to effectively balance speed/quality/tech debt and make engineering decisions that enable speed and quality results
• Excellent coding and proofreading skills.
• Familiarity with the best in class Software development practices.
• Experience with continuous integration and code versioning tools including Git, Bitbucket and others.
• Familiarity with push notifications, APIs and cloud messaging.
• Genuine intent when dealing with customers
