The Opportunity

The iOS Lead Engineer is an iOS developer responsible for owning the development and maintenance of Teladoc’s core platform aimed at a range of iOS devices including mobile phones and tablet computers. We also seek those who have a passion for full-stack development. Your primary focus will be development of iOS applications and their integration with back-end services. Alternatively, you will have an opportunity to work directly with the API layer to gain priceless experience in how apps work end to end. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential.

Responsibilities

• Own our iOS Framework/SDK codebase
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Design and build applications for the iOS platform
• Collaborate with a team to define, design, and ship new features
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Build out workflows in our Ruby on Rails server layer
• Participate in the evolution of company level best practices, standards, and policies as it related to software development
• Regularly work to improve the company’s technical awareness, depth and use of technology across the business, including staying abreast of emerging technologies and readying the company for their use
• Perform other duties as assigned

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related, required (years of relevant work experience m
• 5 - 10 years of post-graduate development experience required.
• Proficient with Objective-C and Swift
• Experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, etc.
• Experience with building iOS Frameworks a major plus
• Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
• Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
• Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
• Knack for benchmarking and optimization
• Experience with Ruby/Rails is preferred
• Proficient understanding of Git
• Familiarity with continuous integration a plus
