Job Description

The Manager, Standards Development and Engagement is a key member of the CoverMyMeds policy team. The primary responsibility of this role is the development, setup and maintenance of the healthcare industry standards that impact CoverMyMeds and associated partner organizations. Those standards include but are not limited to, Health Level 7, X12 and NCPDP. The candidate will manage the activities and schedules associated with standards engagement and development, including, other CoverMyMeds personnel engaged in task group or work group engagement. Strong knowledge of the standards development process is necessary. Strong interpersonal skills are required and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and standards volunteer personnel, including non-technical and technical staff.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage standards teams developing standards to the prescribed activities and standards development timelines and processes.
  • Responsible for document review and approval of standards development documents, including balloting and comment resolution.
  • Extensive attendance at standards development meetings, work groups and other industry appropriate trade shows and conferences.
  • Oversee the production and submission of materials, including but not limited to, letters, DERFs, graphics, workflows, to standards development organizations (SDO) in compliance with appropriate development procedures as defined by the SDOs.
  • Conduct standards development onboarding and training for CoverMyMeds associates.
  • Maintain tracking system and records in a document control system.
  • Responsible for the retention of standards development documents.
  • Supports requests for documentation and updates.
  • Responsible for project managing the implementation of new or updated standards in the various CoverMyMeds systems and processes and reporting the success of said implementation.
  • Active engagement and leadership in SDO task groups, work groups, committees, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring that other CoverMyMeds staff are actively engaging in and growing in their participation in the SDOs.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of five year’s experience or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Standards development experience, formation of teams, productions, materials submission and commenting process.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry, including pharmacy, Plan/PBM, Provider/EHR, pharmaceutical and Medicare/Medicaid.
  • Project management of multi-disciplinary team(s). PMP certification a plus.
  • Quality oriented and willing to promote quality standards.
  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage completion of multiple tasks/projects with company personnel.
  • Familiarity with documentation control processes.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
  • Moderate travel throughout the country depending on level of engagement, approximately 40-50%.
  • Must be able to work extended days and over extended period of times including weekends to attend meetings and conferences.
  • Position can be based in CoverMyMeds corporate office in Columbus or remotely.
