Program Manager, Recruiting

Job Description

We’re seeking a Program Manager to design, lead, grow, and hire for our recruiting programs. These are essential to cultivating future leaders in AI, diversifying the field, and ultimately fulfilling OpenAI’s mission of building safe artificial general intelligence ( AGI ) which benefits all of humanity. OpenAI operates a number of recruiting programs, including our Fellows and Scholars programs, that focus on developing research and engineering talent from backgrounds outside deep learning. The talent from these programs has gone on to achieve outstanding results both within OpenAI and in the broader field. In this role, you’ll have the outstanding opportunity to manage existing programs, as well as to own new talent programs from ideation through to execution. You’ll partner closely with leaders and team members across the organization, including those responsible for our most ambitious projects and one-of-a-kind machine-learning API . You’ll develop, iterate on, and own the recruiting processes for these programs from end to end. You’ll also project manage the curriculum, milestones, and events for the programs; and act as the main point of contact for the candidates that join OpenAI by providing support and guidance throughout their time here.

Your impact through this role:

• Build a diverse pipeline for our current and future talent programs through a variety of creative channels
• Partner with hiring managers and research leaders to build and improve recruiting processes for talent programs
• Act as the main touchpoint for our candidates, from application to close through to their time participating in the program
• Ensure a positive end-to-end interview experience for all candidates and program participants
• Represent OpenAI and engage with candidates at conferences or academic partnerships and events, including ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, and more
• Effectively lead and contribute to cross-functional projects with your recruiting colleagues and others in the company

We're looking for:

• 4+ years of experience in a combination of recruiting and program/project management roles
• Experience designing, implementing, and managing recruiting programs
• Experience in full-cycle university or professional recruiting for research science or engineering
