What you will do: - Working on a technically challenging product meeting real customer (& carrier!) needs
- Collaborating with peers across the US in a friendly, open, environment where you can learn, grow, and have a disproportionately large impact
- Engineering for scale, reliability, maintainability, and security
- Refactoring a monolith into a burgeoning constellation of services
- Thinking to break down thorny problems into quick experiments we can all learn from
- Evaluating technology needs, suggesting changes, running trials, and communicating about results
- Ruby on Rails API development, Python microservices, MySQL, Redis, Cassandra, running on simple & elegant Linux orchestration, with Rust & Go helping where they offer the most lift
About you: - Experience delivering software using an incremental approach
- Perspective and opinion coupled with the humility to handle admitting mistakes quickly
- 4+ years of experience working in SaaS or Cloud environment
- Strong engineering ability in multiple languages - Ruby on Rails and Python are a plus
- Knowledge of e-commerce or shipping is great
- Experience doing backend work, with a focus on core services, infrastructure, or scaling and managing a RESTful API
- Database knowledge - SQL and NoSQL
- Computer Science degree (or relevant industry experience with demonstrable CS fundamentals) and eligibility to work in the United States
