Engineering Manager - Platform, Frontend

Slack is seeking an Engineering Manager to join the leadership of our Files team! Our team’s mission is to create a central way for teams to share and engage on content. The mission of this team is to organize work in slack and make collaboration creation easier by crafting a central way for teams to share and engage with content. We drive the future of content, email, calendar and documents at Slack by improving in-app user experience and building on our integrations.
What you will be doing

• Lead and mentor a team of senior/staff backend, frontend, iOS, and Android engineers in delivering scalable features to our customers.
• Lead projects from discovery to delivery, driving initiatives that impact the larger team of 30+ engineers, EMs, PMs and TPMs.
• Drive product roadmap and initiatives, and participate in technical design.
• You will collaborate with engineers across pillars in product, platform and infrastructure engineering.
• Represent your team to internal and external audiences with differing levels of technical proficiency.
• Effectively communicating across the product development team and company!
• Build a diverse team while encouraging a collaborative and inclusive environment

What you should have

• Experience recruiting, managing, fostering and retaining talent on a technical team.
• Ability to ship complex projects in an environment with multiple dependencies in a high impact area.
• Hands-on experience building APIs, web applications and interactions with clients.
• High level of accountability, bias to action and a desire to empower individuals on the team to perform at their best.
