The school operates on Pacific Time and this role covers our full-time learners. *** This is a part time role with up to 10-12 hours a week between 4PM to 6PM or 7PM AND 9PM Pacific Time Zone. ***
What You'll Do:
- Teach live code-along via Zoom where you’ll explain complex concepts with simplicity and ease by using real-life examples, practice exercises, analogies, and storytelling.
- This is a part time role with up to 10-12 hours a week between 4PM to 6PM or 7PM AND 9PM Pacific Time Zone.
- Guide your learners to excel in Leetcode practice and GCA testing
- Allocate time for proactive outreach for academic help on a weekly basis.
- Provide learner support in the form of office hours, live chat, and 1:1 sessions as needed
- Provide and document curriculum feedback on a regular basis
- Report to Lambda School on learner progress and successes throughout the course.
- Develop teaching strategies to maintain high learner engagement
- Demonstrate high empathy and ability to encourage learners who are struggling as well as provide additional challenges to the learners who are excelling
- Collaborate cross-functionally
What You'll Need:
- 3+ years of software development or data science is required
- 2+ years experience teaching/training is strongly preferred
- Ability to coach learners on how to improve their computer science problem-solving skills
- Must be familiar with: Algorithmic problem-solving, Big-O and time/space complexity, Hash Table usage for optimizing algorithms, JavaScript and Python
- Worked with and/or providing career support to software developers and/or data science roles is strongly preferred
- Process-oriented with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishSelf-starting with the ability to effectively work autonomously with little oversight
- Extremely comfortable and compelling in public speaking situations
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
- Data-driven approach: you’re motivated by metrics, and use these to inform how you approach your work
- Create solutions that scale: you identify ways to make processes more efficient and do more with less, without sacrificing quality
- A growth mindset: you’re always looking for ways to improve yourself and your environment
- You stay up to date on trends in the Software Development and Data Science industries
