NerdWallet is seeking a Digital PR Executive that can make a significant impact on our business. A successful candidate understands the media landscape, is quick to catch newsworthy trends and is an expert in time management and prioritisation. The role requires the ability to work in a team environment and build effective relationships both externally with media partners and internally within our organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making an immediate impact at a fast growing company and introducing a new brand to the UK.

Where you can make an impact:

• Work with our UK content team to develop and pitch story ideas to media partners
• Monitor media partner sites to: identify stories gaining traction, ensure partners are following content guidelines and identify new story opportunities / major announcements
• Identify new partners that will help position NerdWallet as a trusted resource for consumers

You are:

• A Media Expert: You are able to develop and maintain key relationships among media as well as identify proactive and targeted pitching opportunities
• A Strong Relationship Builder: You must be able to work effectively in cross-functional teams to drive results.
• A Strategic Thinker: You are able to identify and develop pitch angles quickly based on news cycles, identify trends that are newsworthy and develop new account management tactics to position NerdWallet as an expert.
• A Proactive Self Driver: You are skilled at planning, prioritising and executing on multiple projects while meeting deadlines. You work well under pressure and maintain strong communication with your cross-functional team.
• A Strong Project Manager: You are an executor and effective at aligning multiple stakeholders to meet campaign deadlines and drive business results.
• Data-Driven: You are able to leverage internal reporting or business intelligence tools to identify successful stories or help inform team strategy.

Your experience:

• 2-3 years experience in PR, communications, or external account management
• Undergraduate degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing or a related field
• Maintain awareness of current news and events, changes in national and local media and overall financial trends
• Experience using Google Analytics, Cision, Trendkite platforms a plus
• Foundational knowledge of SEO
• Self-motivated, fast learner, and strategic thinker; able to achieve high impact in a dynamic environment
• Entrepreneurial spirit in helping build out a new business and communications program for the company
