Change Lead- San Mateo

A vital role within the GPDR Business Operations, Planning and Strategy (GBOPS) / Global Partner Operations (GPOPs) teams responsible for developing and administering change, to the benefit of partners as well as internal employees. The successful candidate will focus on ensuring the organization is ready, willing and able to accept changes to business processes, systems and technology, and that any associated changes to job roles and organization structures are well understood. Working closely alongside the Training and Communications leads, the Change Lead will ensure the development of change management strategies and plans that increase user acceptance and minimize resistance. The Change Lead will work to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization of and proficiency with the changes that impact both partners and internal PlayStation employees. These improvements will increase benefit realization, value creation, return on investment and the achievement of key objectives and results, ensuring partner and business expectations around outcomes are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities and strategy
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Communications and Training Leads to ensure the strategy is well understood and supported by those functions
  • Ensuring the business is ready for the change, and flag any potential risks to the Program Manager / key collaborators
  • Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key partners
  • Address risks (as identified by Program Manager or others) by developing plans to mitigate them
  • Where there is a capability deficit arising from future change, work with key business team members to identify and develop the capability to meet the new need
  • Work to ensure the business is fully engaged prior to change and understands the downstream impacts resulting from the analysis
  • Guide key business partners through the business transition
  • Ensure that change is sustained by providing key check ins and adjusting plans as needed following the change (for as long as required)
  • Report to leadership on the success of the change management strategy
  • Become knowledgeable to an appropriate degree on the tools, processes and policies, both business and technical being used and the user experience / user journey
  • Advocate for improvements to tools / processes / org where appropriate and relevant and be a partner advocate
  • Monitor costs against any relevant budgets
  • Constantly review strategy to ensure it remains relevant and effective and the tactics are delivering the intended outcomes
  • Gather constant feedback, modify plans accordingly and be agile and willing to adapt to changing business or other conditions
  • Work as a key member of the wider Service Delivery team to coordinate and discuss strategy around change as part of broader planning cycles
  • Working flexibly as part of the global organization to accommodate working hours of international colleagues and partners

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of experience in Change Management
  • strong communication and presentation skills
  • patient, persistent, discrete, pragmatic/realistic and diplomatic
  • a starter and finisher with ability to persevere, package ideas into strategies, champion ideas and work through transformational change to deliver results even with levels of ambiguity present
  • data-centric and analytical with good planning skills and fine attention to detail
  • both detail and 'big-picture' conscious
  • excellent negotiation and advocacy skills including ability to clearly communicate with technical and business partners
  • experienced in managing multiple active projects and balancing resource in line with business priorities
  • creative and energetic great teammate who embraces change and a desire to continually improve
  • strong ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships with key global collaborators
  • able to challenge how things are done at all levels and provide respectful but clear suggestions for improvement on process and operations with an impartial and comprehensive perspective
  • proven track record in designing and implementing successful change programs with both small and large groups across process, people and technology
  • being able to work with technical partners and navigate technical roadmaps, processes or concepts to effectively be able to translate these into change-based needs
  • a clear understanding of cultural differences around the globe and ability to adapt plans and approach to accommodate
  • experience working in a distributed team with international colleagues with ability to collaborate effectively across regions, subject areas and time zones

Preferred experience:

  • genuine passion for video games, technology and end user experience
  • broad awareness of the games market, current and future games platforms
  • broad understanding of video game development processes
  • seasoned traveler able to operate flexibly and effectively when remote
