The Wing is seeking a General Manager, to lead Space Operations, events, and community in our SoHo Location.

Your key performance objectives:

As a Wing General Manager you will be responsible for:
- Driving employee engagement - We want leaders who can foster an inclusive environment within your spaces where team members are empowered to deliver exceptional service and member experiences.
- Training and development - You are THE example and will lead the charge to onboarding and training your team in accordance with Wing onboarding protocols are followed. From day 1 we want leaders who lead with integrity and high standards and motivate their team to continually raise the bar.
- ENGAGE AND RETAIN CURRENT MEMBER BASE At the Wing, we seek to understand our members, listening to what they need and providing amenities and offerings that allow our members to have their best day at work every day in our spaces! As a Wing General Manager you will:
- Build flourishing communities - Lead with a strong sense of community, leadership, and help create an intentional and inclusive space for our members to work, connect and re-engage with IRL activities.
- Monitor and analyze key metrics - Lead metric analysis and member feedback, and direct “on the floor” observations so that you can support data-driven decision-making in service of our member experience.
- Foster and maintain partnerships with cross functional departments across The Wing - General Manager work closely with our marketing, programming and events, sales, and member experience in order maintain our member base and support in member acquisition activities. As such, cross functional collaboration is critical to ensure all departments are abreast on The Wing space priorities. You are the ambassador of your space throughout the organization.
- Manage strategy and elevation of membership retention - Lead and manage retention strategy and contribution goals to be on target to drive strong membership satisfaction, growth and retention rates.
- MAINTAIN AND OPERATE YOUR SPACE Our spaces are the physical representation of our brand. We want them to be warm, inviting and functional. We are looking for General Managers who are natural owners and take pride in operational excellence. Is that you? If it is then you will get the opportunity to:
- Lead operational excellence - This is your ship. You are the captain. You will have oversight of day-to-day business operations, observing operations, monitoring reports and conducting audits to ensure your space follows policies and procedures, while escalating issues as needed.
- Oversee Facility Maintenance and Vendor Management - Manage operating efficiencies within each space auditing facility assets and evaluating personnel, labor costs and expenses on a regular basis.
- Innovate and simplify - Collaborate with other team members across the Space Ops team and figure out ways to innovate and simplify processes and procedures.
- Create safe, healthy and productive spaces - Ensure a safe working and member environment as well as necessary repairs and maintenance work. Guarantee that the space runs smoothly, cleanly, complies with all COVID policies and procedures. Oversee all ordering of supplies, inventory, and waste tracking.
You have proven performance in:
- 3-5 years of hospitality experience or relevant work experience
- Strong community building skills - experience building a community from the ground up is a plus!
- Experience in managing and overseeing both high level and junior level managers
- Regulatory, safety and compliance
- Strengths in delegating and directing
- Operationally sound and able to confidently execute operational tasks and initiatives
- Proficient with Google Suite, Slack, Zoom and Zen Desk
Nice to have but not required:
- Extensive hospitality background
- Experience in high volume, fast-paced experience preferred
- Experience managing a space team during Covid-19 restrictions
- Financial acumen and the ability to teach and mentor others
- Understanding of Rewarding & Motivating techniques and best practices
- Experience with coaching and providing guidance to employees
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to travel to the space daily and spend full days at least three days a week during initial 90-day ramp. Following ramp, would need to continue to maintain an active presence across spaces, to allocate time spent as required to align to critical priorities at each space
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Ability to stand or walk for long stretches of time
- Must be able to access and navigate the location
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time
- Ability to be in the Space 5 days/week
