Digital Marketing Associate

Today, we have millions of dedicated monthly active users who sing on Smule, and our community continues to grow rapidly. We’re looking for a creative digital marketer to join our Growth Marketing team, responsible for optimizing our app store listings and maximizing growth, while maintaining high brand standards. In this high impact, high visibility role, you’ll partner with members of Smule’s marketing, business development, product, creative, and mobile release teams, as well as external partners and our ASO agency, to ensure our store listings communicate the core values and features of Smule, driving conversion improvements and supporting global acquisition goals.

This role can be fully remote but we'll prioritize candidates who are in any one of our US hub locations (Austin, Nashville, Salt Lake City, or the SF Bay Area). We’re also open to candidates looking to relocate to one of these fantastic hub cities.

In this position, you’ll own the ASO process, including setting and executing A/B testing strategy, metadata optimization and deployment, coordination of store changes and featuring opportunities, managing our ASO agency, and reporting results to stakeholders.

You will...

  • Work on Smule’s global app store optimization (ASO) and organic downloads strategy across more than 30 countries and languages
  • Manage continuous improvements to store listings, through keyword research and creative and copy ideation and testing
  • Monitor and report on strategy effectiveness, conversion improvements and organic install changes from the app store consoles and internal data sources
  • Develop content & creative briefs based on research and test results to guide asset development for conversion improvement and maximum learnings
  • Manage our leading ASO agency to expedite testing and deployment efforts and accelerate gains
  • Collaborate with teams, including Creative, Customer Support, Product, and Biz Dev to accelerate growth through store featuring and partnerships
  • Stay on top of the latest trends and changes in the digital marketing industry and ASO space, including algorithm updates, optimization methods and tools, and strategies to grow installs
  • Leverage insight tools like data.ai (fmk AppAnnie) to monitor store features and identify opportunities to highlight Smule’s growing range of use cases based on new product offerings
  • Coordinate the launch of the Smule app across high-growth app stores, beyond iOS App Store and Google Play

You have...

  • 1-2 years relevant internship, startup or corporate experience, ASO experience is preferred but not required
  • B.A./B.S. in Marketing, Business or other relevant analytical/technical discipline preferred
  • Proven track record of succeeding within a fast-past, rapidly-changing environment
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage a high-volume of tasks & projects without losing sight of high priority items, and a desire to establish new processes to enable organizational efficiencies
  • An analytical mind, with the ability to spot patterns and trends; comfortable navigating spreadsheets and analyzing data to inform decisions
  • Drive and self-motivation. You’re able to work independently and collaboratively to push projects to completion
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clear, concise and persuasive verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong interest in new technologies, data, and apps, and passion for developing understanding of the mobile app industry and app store consoles
  • A knack for solving problems with a can-do attitude to accomplish objectives
  • Experience evaluating and using A/B testing platforms and/or third-party tools

Exceptional candidates will have...

  • 1-2 years ASO experience, working with App Store Connect and Google Play Developer console and leading ASO tools, including data.ai, Mobile Action, App Tweak, etc.
  • 2-5 years of consumer marketing experience, working with subscription businesses is a bonus
  • Strong understanding of the mobile marketing ecosystem
  • Experience working with creative tools and on creative optimization & localization efforts
  • Experience as a channel manager on UAC, Apple Search Ads, SEM or Paid social is a plus
