The Senior Manager, Merchants PayFac Compliance will have the opportunity to build an operational Merchant Compliance Program and Team from the ground up that helps Toast customers meet their card brand obligations and help Toast fulfill its role as a payment facilitator. You will be responsible for hiring a team of analysts to field customer questions related to merchant compliance responsibilities, like PCI and surcharging, and for building monitoring programs to track compliance with card brand rules. You will also work in tandem with the Security Team on vendor selection and roadmapping of the long-term Toast merchant compliance program.

What You Will Do:

• Coordinate with the Security Team to build a program at Toast that enables our customers to maintain compliance with their card brand obligations and PCI
• Hire and develop a team of customer-facing analysts who support Toast restaurants through their compliance journey and educates them on card brand rules
• Develop procedures for a team of analysts to monitor for and take action on violations of card brand rules, and to respond to non-technical PCI questions
• Select and maintain relationships with vendors that could be used to build the merchant compliance program
• Act as a main point of contact for Toast’s partners who rely on or assess our obligation as a payment facilitator towards compliance of our merchant portfolio, and participate in partner audits
• Liaise with the Security, Compliance, and Legal Teams to ensure that operational merchant-related policies and procedures are in alignment across the organization

Do you have the right ingredients?

• Be a subject matter expert on current merchant card brand compliance requirements
• Have experience building a merchant compliance program and leading a team of analysts
• 5 to 7 years experience working with different sizes of merchants and card brand compliance, including experience with PCI requirements
• Ability to work cross-functionally, and you have strong communication skills
• Experience working with customers or managing customer-facing teams
