About the Role and the Team Bolt is hiring a Senior Product Design Manager to help shape our product strategy and ensure every feature or product we release is world-class. The ideal candidate has deep empathy for people, a passion for simplifying complex problems, and an action-oriented mentality. As a Senior Product Design Manager at Bolt, you’ll play a foundational role in setting the product strategy and helping to build a conscious culture.
What you'll do
- You’ll manage a team of Product Designers at different stages and skill sets, helping them set clear goals, managing project loads, and ensuring they are set up for success
- You’ll provide insight and design expertise when it’s needed to help your team of work more effectively
- You’ll help define processes and best practices for the team, ensuring a consistent process and high-quality deliverables
- You’ll develop the strategy for your area and work with partners to align on specific goals
- You’ll help translate various data and research into actionable information for your partners and your Product Design team
- You’ll set a vision for your feature area to shape the product roadmap
- You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure a smooth product development process
- You’ll build and foster an inclusive work culture and actively participate in the hiring process
- You’ll set a positive example for your team and advocate for their personal and professional growth
What will set you up for success
- You have 2+ years experience building or leading teams of full-time Product Designers
- You have 7+ years of Product Design experience overall
- You have a strong understanding of visual and interaction design principles and design methods
- You demonstrate high-level strategic thinking across multiple product features
- You understand the value of research and are able to synthesize different data types
- You have experience conceptualizing new product ideas and bringing them to fruition
- You can clearly articulate your team's decisions to internal partners and leaders
- You cultivate a positive environment for Product Designers and your cross-functional partners
- You support others around you and champion the values of a conscious culture
