Overview
The Opportunity:
The Business Intelligence/ Data Analyst is the subject matter expert for collecting and transforming data into applicable insights, and communicating the information and providing guidance to diverse audiences and our teams across the firm. Using expertise, the BI Analyst works cross-functionally to identify needs and opportunities, design accurate dashboards, reports, and presentations. Also, the BI Analyst independently manages small to medium-sized Business Intelligence projects from beginning to completion.
The Day to Day:
- You will write code to collect data and develop dashboard and reporting solutions for assigned business groups
- Develop dashboards and reports for assigned departments using enterprise BI tools
- Establish, guide, and support business intelligence projects from beginning to end, including directing work for BI Specialists while reporting directly to the Business Information Team Lead
- Select and apply statistical and analytical methods to identify issues, present business and process insights, and make decision recommendations
- Manage relationships with teams to elicit strategic reporting roadmaps and to determine project plans
- Test business intelligence solutions, including creating test plans/cases/scripts and implementing test plans
- Independently identify inefficiencies and implements streamlined reporting and processes to maximize process efficiency through automation, re-structuring and elimination
- Provide operational support and incident management for dashboards and reports, including updating internal clients and relevant parties on status changes and issues encountered
- Author and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for processes, procedures, and dashboard/report designs
- Develop training about data marts and business intelligence including continuing education and initial training for new users across the company
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a quantitative or business intelligence role required
- Masters' degree in data analytics, statistics, or data science helpful
- Advanced quantitative, data analysis, and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize across various tasks, cope with changes in daily workload, and operate under several simultaneous deadlines
- The ability to quickly correspond with team members, technical staff, and management
- Intermediate knowledge in programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python
- Intermediate knowledge in business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent
- Intermediate knowledge of database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or No SQL databases
