Senior SoC Validation and Characterization Engineer Role and Responsibilities
The AMD product characterization team in Singapore is looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to help evaluate the performance of our ACAP products. As a member of the product characterization team, you will develop and execute system-level characterization tests to guarantee design margins and ensure the performance of the ARM-based processor system and related subsystems within our ACAP products. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Designing and developing characterization tests in hardware and software, for measuring the performance and design margins of the processor system and related IP with respect to parameters such as timing, frequency and voltage
• Developing innovative system-level tests to evaluate SoC performance at the application level
• Implementing software and automation for pre-silicon and post-silicon experimental lab setups
• Collecting and analyzing characterization data across a range of device operating conditions and volume to generate characterization reports and insights based on silicon trends
• Working with cross-functional teams to correlate data and to debug and resolve issues

The successful candidate should possess the following attributes:

• 5+ years of experience in pre/post-silicon validation
• BS in EE, CS, ECE or related field; MS preferred
• Knowledge of processor systems, caches, SoC architecture and on-chip interconnects
• Understanding of developing for multi-core processor systems is highly advantageous
• Proficiency in C and (ARM) Assembly, with embedded Linux and RTOS being an added bonus
• Logic design skills in VDHL/Verilog, with an understanding of EDA tools and FPGA internals
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Tcl or Perl
• Solid understanding of statistical analysis
