What You'll Do

As a Technical Product Owner for the Delivery team, you’ll work with cross-functional stakeholders to identify requirements, and own the delivery backlog. The Delivery team is responsible for delivering Uptake’s AI/ML products and solutions to customers across industries such as Transportation, Energy, Manufacturing etc.

You’ll work collaboratively across the Product, PMO, Data Science and Sales teams to ensure our offshore engineering teams can deliver. You’ll draw on your technical background to work with the PMO team to align customers' needs to onboard customers.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively across different teams within Uptake to gather requirements to own and refine the delivery backlog.
• Direct and manage agile workflows - sprint ceremonies, communication risks, and blockers. Track development metrics, maintain dashboards
• Help coach the team in everything Agile; own and optimize Agile processes, and make recommendations as needed.
• Own product lines and supporting processes - e.g. work intake, requirements gathering, writing user stories, managing Epics. Map and track dependencies
• Efficient, organized with stakeholder communication skills to be able to track progress and communicate updates to key stakeholders
• Advanced knowledge of Jira, ability to craft SQLs to extract metrics and track them to optimize processes, analyze data to measure the KPIs, and guide improvements
• Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog by leveraging open dialogue with stakeholders while seeking constant feedback
• Curate documentation with senior stakeholders

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a Product Owner. An engineering or development background is preferred
• Ambitious, self-starter, task-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, loosely structured environment
• Critical thinker, data-driven, KPI tracking skills with the ability to see the “big picture”
• Comfortable making real-time autonomous decisions when conditions change, based on the understanding of the user context, business objectives, and client needs
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban
• Advanced communication and collaboration skills

Preferred knowledge and background

• BA/BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
• Agile or Product Owner certification
• Prior experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial startup environment
• 1-3 years of programming experience preferred
• Working knowledge of:
• Jira, confluence, slack, google docs
• Agile, Scrum, Kanban
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs
• Continuous Integration tools
• Security Protocols
• General understanding of SDLC processes
• Basic code literacy (won’t have to write, but helps to understand)
• Previous work with data engineering, data integration, or ETL is preferred
