The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for creating business intelligence solutions, dashboards, reports, and requirements gathering by working closely with Marketing, Operations, HR, and Finance departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting. They will influence and shape the overall data and visualization strategy for Uptake. Will be tasked with evaluating, selecting, and deploying an enterprise visualization tool.

• Initially, this will be an individual contributor position but will grow to have several direct reports.

Ideal Candidate

• A leader with previous experience mentoring, training, and overseeing team members or contractors.
• Passionate about Visualization tools and telling the story to the stakeholders
• Thinks wholistically and considers reusability and cross-functional needs when deploying solutions.
• Thinks about the big picture and how others will be impacted or how other objectives could be integrated into the work.
• Requires little to no supervision and prefers being given high level objectives.
• Comfortable “filling in the blanks” on their own and will ask for help as needed.
• Is aligned with data governance, security, and understands how important following the process and documenting is.

Responsibilities:

• Translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Developing reporting systems that enable data driven decisions.
• Analyzing product, market, and trends to build warehouse data.
• Maintain the data and analytics platforms.
• Evaluating, improving, and training users on existing BI systems.
• Troubleshoot BI models.
• Generate and deliver quality reports to customers and perform quality assurance checks on reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience (5+ years) with data visualization platforms (i.e., DOMO, Power BI, Tableau)
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Expertise in collecting, reviewing, and approving business and technical requirements
• Experience building and maintaining an enterprise data warehouse
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Experience deploying and training others on Power BI
• Cloud (AWS or Azure) experience
• Experience working with Google Cloud and Google Analytics
• Experience working with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Experience working with Salesforce
