We’re looking for an experienced product manager to help execute Lightstep’s product vision and strategy for the Lightstep platform, which powers our unified observability products. The Lightstep platform enables core platform primitives such as data ingestion, storage, querying and analytics that are far more scalable and flexible than competitive offerings. The platform is also the bedrock that empowers multiple product teams at Lightstep to build new capabilities with reliability, extensibility, and scale.

What You’ll Do:

Your primary area of focus will be our Unified Query Experience, which includes our UI-based query builder, our text-based query language, and Lightstep’s internal and external APIs. Our query language and unified APIs are pre-release, so you will lead product in our earliest stages, helping us build our capabilities from the ground up and leading us through launch. You will drive the development of powerful querying capabilities, working closely with stakeholders across the business to create value and delightful experiences built on top of the Lightstep platform. You will focus on two key customers whose experiences the Query Experience Team directly impacts: Lightstep end-users who are trying to ask meaningful questions about their telemetry data in the UI or though the APIs, as well as internal Lightstep users who rely on internal APIs.

You would be a good fit if:

• You have a strong history of shipping developer-facing products that users loves with demonstrable success
• You collaborate well-cross functionally – with engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing – to get an organization working together towards strategic objectives
• You can take in evidence, integrate information from multiple sources, derive meaning from it, and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment
• You have experience seeing and implementing the big picture on platform enablement, serving an ecosystem of different personas, from internal developers to end users to platform partners
• You have strong technical knowledge and the ability to work closely with world-class engineering partners to devise strategies, solve for complex system interdependencies, and build performant and scalable solutions to serve customer facing applications
• You have 3-5+ years of industry expertise working on or deploying cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes or Microservices (for example as a SRE / Engineer, Sales or Partner Engineer, Kubernetes Admin, etc.)
• You have experience working with Data integrations, SDKs, APIs, in the context of Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) and other cloud-native technologies

What You’ll Achieve:

• You’ll help execute Lightstep’s long-term platform vision, goals, success metrics, strategy
• You’ll translate that strategy into concrete plans and objectives over the short and medium term
• You’ll guide the prioritization of work and help make resourcing and prioritization tradeoffs
• You’ll build a compelling platform roadmap based on customer needs, resources, and strategic opportunities
