The Data Scientist will join a small team launching a new venture in the blockchain space. They will be responsible for organizing blockchain data and developing blockchain-related insights through models, charts and tables for users. By joining this team, you will have an opportunity to work with blockchain data, help make sense of it, and be the driving force in defining the metrics and insights that we should deliver for our product.
The Data Scientist will:
- Be the go-to-person when it comes to blockchain data
- Closely collaborate with engineers on algorithm/models/charts development
- Be the decision maker for which metrics and insights platform should surface
- Contribute to both short term and long term targets of a blockchain startup
- Work quickly and efficiently to test load-bearing hypotheses - and the viability of this venture moving forward
Ideal Attributes:
- Eager to take on a wide variety of analytical and business roles and responsibilities in a startup environment
- A degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- Excellent understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques (familiarity with graph/network analysis is a plus)
- Familiarity with ML model development frameworks, ML orchestration and pipelines with experience in either Airflow, Kubeflow or MLFlow as well as Spark, Python, and SQL - PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or Scikit-learn a plus
- 2+ years of experiences in statistical modeling and machine learning, and creating data dashboards or programmatic data visualization using Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Python, D3.js, Pandas, Plotly, or Matplotlib a plus
- Ability to develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, use of strong baselines, ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and hypothesis-driven critical thinking skills that can identify business opportunities and transform data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills. Our ideal candidate can explain complex data science and machine learning concepts/ideas/methods to technical and business audiences
- Self-motivated and accountable. You are able to get things done and independently manage priorities
- Excited about creating something new, working through ambiguity, and unlocking hidden data potential using raw data
