Position title: Production Manager

Location: Hillegom, NL

Reports to: Senior Operations Manager

Contract type: Permanent, full-time, day shift

Job summary

As a Production Manager you will be responsible for manufacturing hygiene consumables (liquid soap and disinfectants) for our brand Rubbermaid Commercial Products.

You will lead all operational activities of the production process (mixing, filling, assembling, packaging) according to legislation, internal guidelines and customer requirements.

You will directly manage 6 Production Supervisors and indirectly a team of 30-40 people (FTE and temporary workers) who work in a flexible shift pattern that is demand driven.

Your role will include close cooperation with Quality Manager, Maintenance Manager, HR Manager, Supply Chain Manager and participation in continuous improvement and operational excellence projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for delivering products of required quality and quantity on time to the customers as planned by supply chain
• Initiate, drive and enforce Lean Manufacturing implementation & Continuous Improvement culture in the manufacturing area
• Create, maintain and manage a portfolio of (possible) productivity and improvement projects.
• Manage KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for Mixing, Assembling & Packaging and report on them on a regular basis
• Setting up and maintaining routings of material usage
• Setting up the budget and managing the expenses for the production
• Responsible for minimizing the direct labor cost, without compromising the targets for quality and service level.
• Responsible for minimizing scrap & waste costs
• Responsible for the optimum machine-utilization (weekly and monthly planning of resources), in agreement with production planning.
• Manage, coach and motivate Production Supervisors and the production team
• Look for and use training opportunities to develop the team members
• Supervise compliance with existing safety instructions and programs, including use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Report accidents and incidents through the installed reporting procedures
• Responsible for keeping all manufacturing related ISO instructions and procedures up to date and available where needed
• Cooperate in maintaining the ISO-system

Qualifications:

• Technical education – Bachelor level
• 5+ years of experiences in a similar role in a lean mass production environment
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Fluent in English (written & spoken) is a must and good knowledge of Dutch to communicate with the team is preferred
• Safety certification

• Proven track record of successfully implemented improvement projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Able to manage, engage and motivate a multicultural team
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
• Solution oriented
• Thinking and working in an innovative way, able to think out-of-the-box.
