The Role As the VP of Acquisition you will be responsible for leading and scaling a high performance acquisition marketing team. Reporting directly to the CMO, you will set the direction and strategy to grow and scale our revenue marketing functions at Bitly. This is a unique opportunity where you will be leading growth for a globally recognized brand that generates more than 10 million monthly website visitors, 5.7 million monthly active users, 250 million monthly links and QR codes, and 10 billion monthly interactions between businesses, brands, creators, and their audiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about driving results in a high growth environment and loves improving the intersection between traffic and conversion. You will be setting the vision, developing key KPIs, and scaling a team of high performing global marketers across performance marketing, demand generation, content, lifecycle marketing, and CRO. You will be working as part of a dynamic marketing leadership team and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and work in a fast paced growing environment. This leader will build and run a global team, design and set goals for global growth, and ensure the team collaborates with cross-functional partners to gain further leverage. This leader should have strong demand generation and performance marketing skills, has a love for data, and a desire to work in a fast-moving space where experimentation is key.
What You’ll Do
- Set strategy, plan and execute targeted campaigns and programs to achieve performance marketing goals and revenue outcomes in both paid and non paid channels; this will be a combination of leading in house talent and outsourced functions
- Build, lead and coach a team focused on aligning efforts to outcome and ensuring each member is supported and mentored to achieve their potential
- Build and manage marketing performance dashboards, revenue, and growth KPIs across the funnel with a breakdown for both our sales assisted and product led journeys
- Lead a data-driven culture that leverages analytical insights to optimize campaign performance and conversion
- Lead the go-to-market strategy for our global new business acquisition: including SEM, website performance, end-to-end demand generation programs, SEO & content marketing, lifecycle, social channels, and affiliate and channel marketing
- Drive experimentation on the Bitly website in partnership with our Product team to improve conversion and create a world-class experience for our visitors
- Implement a strong experimentation culture in marketing and partner with our Product team to drive performance and optimizations across the entire marketing lifecycle: specifically around acquisition, engagement, adoption, and monetization
- Set and manage overall performance marketing budget for customer acquisition. Managing a strong CPL and ROAS across channels
- Lead our global localization strategy for performance marketing and demand generation efforts
- Partner with Sales leadership and the SDR team to support ongoing optimizations to the hand off and lead qualification process
Who you are
- 10+ years leading acquisition marketing for a global software and/or SaaS, ecommerce,or high-volume consumer tech business
- Strong budget management and marketing measurement skill
- Excellent written and presentation skills; extremely detail-oriented and the ability to handle ambiguity and present ideas and results to an executive team
- Demonstrable experience as a proven leader in the SaaS Marketing space, with a strong preference for having worked in both product-led growth (self-serve) as well as sales assisted
- Ability to balance marketing strategy, processes, vision, and tactical execution in a hyper growth environment
- Exceptional people management and leadership skills with the recognized ability to grow and retain a high performing team - preferably with experience growing global teams, valuing diversity of thinking and experience
- Direct experience and a thoughtful approach to what Acquisition and Growth Marketing should be like in a growing SaaS environment; including key KPIs and performance metrics
- Excellent analytical skills with a clear bias to data-driven decision making
- Comfortable with project management across multiple teams and work streams
- Collaborative, humble and comfortable working in a global remote friendly organization
- A degree in Marketing, Communications or related discipline or comparable experience in a SaaS or high volume consumer tech company
