The Role
- As the VP of Brand and Communications you will be responsible for setting the vision and building our brand awareness and comprehension from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CMO, you will set the tone and strategy for our global brand, working closely with Product Marketing to drive positioning in the broader market, as well as developing strategy, messaging and momentum within our customer ecosystem.
- This is a unique opportunity where you will have the flexibility to set the vision, develop key KPIs, and scale a team of high-performing marketers across social media, marketing communications, and creative. The ideal candidate will be equal parts passionate about growing market awareness and perception while also understanding how awareness impacts revenue. You will be working on a dynamic marketing leadership team and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and work in a fast paced growing environment.
- The VP of Brand will build and run a global team, design and set goals for this program, and ensure the team collaborates with cross-functional partners to gain further leverage. This leader should have strong brand-building/management and strategy-creation skills, as well as a desire to work in a fast-moving space where experimentation is key.
What You'll Do
- Build and drive forward the vision for the brand and communications team at Bitly, including setting the strategic direction, hiring, coaching and developing a high performing team
- Implement and build our global brand positioning in partnership with product marketing, specifically working to drive stronger relevance and differentiation with our ideal customer profile and driving up market share
- Craft and scale the Bitly social media strategy to increase stronger organic reach and engagement
- Lead strategy, development, planning and execution of targeted brand campaigns across multiple channels (e.g. digital, social, OOH, streaming, broadcast, and podcasts) in partnership with internal teams and external agency partners
- Partner with the Acquisition Marketing and Product Marketing teams to ensure brand and message continuity throughout all stages of the acquisition funnel and customer journey
- Launch annual market and perception survey to track and evaluate brand awareness and perception and implement an annual roadmap to increase market share year over year
- Implement key brand and communications KPIs and manage leadership dashboard: increasing brand awareness, market perception, engagement, and impressions
- Lead and grow a multi-national team responsible for creative execution, marketing content, social media, and communications
- Manage global agency partners for PR and communications, define KPIs and performance metrics, and execute a coordinated PR strategy and roadmap
- Work with the Bitly People Lead to build and deliver our employer brand strategy and internal communications: specifically building and implementing a strategic vision for employee communications, employer reviews, and employer awards and recognition
- Increase product awareness and enablement for product launches through integrated marketing strategy, partnering directly with cross functional teams
Who You Are
- 10+ years of global software and/or SaaS branding and communications
- Strong budget management and marketing measurement skill
- Experience defining, building, growing and leading brand and communications teams in a high-growth environment
- Excellent written and presentation skills; extremely detail-oriented and the ability to handle ambiguity and present ideas and results to an executive team
- Detail-oriented leader with an eye for great design and can manage both internal and external resources
- Demonstrated communications expertise with exceptional verbal communication skills and a clear and persuasive writing style
- Experience across key brand and communication disciplines including video, content creation, social media, and PR
- Comfortable with project management across multiple teams and work streams.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and presentation skills; extremely detail-oriented and the ability to handle ambiguity.
- Excellent analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate data into action and make data informed decisions
- Collaborative and friendly, and comfortable working in a global remote environment
- A degree in Marketing, Communications or related discipline

Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
