About the Role

Syapse has built a massive and revolutionary data-sharing network integrating clinical and molecular data from various health systems. You will have concrete contributions to our data pipelines and platform and the freedom to research and develop new methods. You will be on a team that works in the domains of machine learning and natural language processing. Our mission is to transform raw data into actionable insights, to fulfill our goal of improving patient care. We are a highly collaborative team, working with other teams across the organization, from Strategy, Research, and Medicine to Product and Engineering.

What You’ll Accomplish

Accelerate the development of and adoption of ML within our team and across the broader organization. Put data science prototypes into scalable, production-ready code. Success is measured by the integration of ML pipelines and research into the data platform.

How You’ll Spend Your Days

You will architect and automate complex data pipelines using the best data source in precision medicine. You will work with and have a direct impact on a data platform that is cutting edge in the healthcare industry. You will inform your work by directly interacting with doctors, epidemiologists, scientists, business leaders, and healthcare clients across hospitals, research institutions, and life science companies.

What you bring to the table

• Experience in software engineering
• Python, Git, Bash, GitHub Actions, CircleCI or equivalents
• SOLID principles, test-driven development, software architecture and design
• Experience in data pipeline architecture and engineering, including experience with AirFlow or similar technologies
• Experience with cloud technologies
• particularly AWS (IAM, S3, ECR, ECS, Lambda)
• Experience in ML Ops (SageMaker Studio, Docker, Helm, Terraform)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on relaying complex information and concepts in more relatable terms.

A Note on Location:

Syapse is a Remote-First company. What does that mean? Simply, we hire team members anywhere regulations allow and assume everyone will work from home full time. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Syapse hires need to be located and perform their job in the United States. Some folks travel, some may eventually gather in person in areas where we have a critical mass of employees, and of course we’re excited to get together as departments and as a whole company throughout the year in person. But you, and the rest of Team Syapse, will mostly work from home.
