Position Overview:
The Construction Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving profitable revenue and market share growth in the TN, AL, MS, and panhandle FL construction markets for the Smart Infrastructure portfolio. This leader will develop and implement strategies focused on the unique customer requirements and competitive landscape in their geographic market space. They will manage approximately 14 area resources dedicated to sales and collaborate with their counterparts in Siemens Industry to drive the successful implementation and execution of sales strategies that result in overall growth for Siemens.

Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performance Sales team that is proficient in opportunity management, professional selling and business processes. Develop business plan that identifies and prioritizes opportunities in order to optimize the deployment of sales resources. Implement and champion a disciplined sales process to include target account planning, accurate forecasting, opportunity and pipeline management. Collaborate with Siemens Industry Sales Management team to coordinate assignment of accounts and leverage resources and best practices across the organization. Optimize expenditures within an annual operating budget. Build senior level management relationships with key customers. Identify and address unique customer requirements with business units and internal sales support functions. Develop and implement the business plan process as defined by the business units and sales management. Utilize knowledge of competitive strategies and processes to develop a unique value proposition and position Siemens as the vendor of choice.
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is strongly desired, although a combination of education (HS Diploma or GED equivalency is a minimum requirement) and directly related work experience will also be considered.
- 8+ years of industry experience in low/medium voltage products
- Sales experience working across multiple channels i.e. distributors, electrical contractors, OEM’s, end users and/or developers, management experience would be a plus.
- In-depth industry knowledge and excellent communication skills
- Strong leadership and entrepreneurial skills, record of success leading sales teams to profitable growth
- Collaboration and teaming across different organizations and teams
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive at executing daily tasks and achieving long-term goals.
- Passionate commitment to the company vision.
- Ability to travel 30%.
