Your Mission

Our UX is a distinguishing feature and competitive advantage in the industry. As a Frontend Engineering Manager at Tray, you will lead the ‘Core Experience’ team responsible for driving a highly scalable, powerful architecture for a set of applications. You will be entrusted with ensuring we set a high pace of delivery of new features and improvements while driving a sense of innovation and movement to customers and to the market.

Building and nurturing a team of high-performing engineers and fostering their professional development, you will drive technical direction for more junior teams and for senior leads, you’ll confirm they are making the right choices. You’ll also be working with the greater engineering organisation on processes and tooling ensuring fast, efficient, high-quality delivery of features and products.

You’ll go a layer deeper with your team ensuring you have familiarity with where all of R&D is going and exactly where your team fits into the plan. Partnering and collaborating with your Product Manager, you’ll ensure you’re all in lock step in focusing on our key business objectives as a company.

What will you do

• Provide leadership in delivering solutions with a collaborative, low-code UX that empowers anyone in the world to solve software integration problems using Tray
• Drive code and architecture reviews as well as cross-company product-led outcomes
• Help define a clear vision for ‘Core Experience’ of applications by adopting a balanced view of new features, removal of tech debt and architecture goals in overall decision-making
• Get engineers closer to users and problems they experience by pro-actively sharing calls product and sales teams have with customers

About You

• You have experience managing teams of around 6-8 Frontend Engineers
• Experience working for a consumer facing product
• Outcome-driven and thrives on delivering frequently on customer value
• A passion for Frontend Engineering (preferably experience/knowledge of React)
• You prioritise team morale with an ability to move at pace, celebrating team accomplishments regularly
