The Opportunity

Bluetooth Software is expanding in Hyderabad and needs an accomplished Software Engineer to work in staff augmentation mode to support this expansion. In this role, you will be one of the key hires, tasked with turning an existing and growing team of talented embedded software engineers into a seamless part of the Silicon Labs IoT Software organization, working together with many other teams globally.

Bluetooth Software represents one of the key strategic technologies and fastest growing businesses for Silicon Labs. Bluetooth is not just a standalone technology and business for Silicon Labs but it’s also a key technology part of Silicon Labs’ 802.15.4 and Proprietary multi-protocol solutions.

The Bluetooth team is at the forefront of Bluetooth, Direction Finding and Bluetooth mesh development and delivers first in the world, unique and secure solutions for global tier one customers. We work closely with the Silicon IC Design team to define the new features and functionality in our IoT ICs. We are also active in BT SIG, driving new Bluetooth specifications forward with ensured interoperability.

What you will do

• Be one of the pillars of Bluetooth software development in Silicon Labs Hyderabad team, and contribute to design, implementation, unit and integration testing and bug fixing.
• Provide fully transparent view on the status of activities and the deliverables to management
• Coordinate deliveries and actions between the POCs and stakeholders.
• Execute to ensure that the assigned activities are delivered in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on embedded software development.
• Very substantial and proven C programming knowledge.
• Strong background in highly resource-constrained, real-time, embedded environments
• Professional working experience with embedded solutions, protocols and products related to Bluetooth Audio (A2DP, AVRCP, HFP) or BLE (GATT, ATT, profiles) or BT Link layer / BT-SOC.
• Experience with one or more RTOS – Free RTOS, uc/OS, Zephyr preferre
• Proficiency with electronics bench test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
• Detailed understanding and hands-on experience in software development lifecycle and methodologies, including traditional Agile and waterfall methods
• Very good understanding and hands-on experience in continuous integration and test automation methodologies
• Experience in use of modern bug tracking and release management tools (Confluence, Jira etc.)
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams

Qualifications Considered a Plus

• Experience working at a semiconductor company
• Basic understanding of hardware IP architecture, development and verification
• Radio firmware experience at the PHY / MAC layers
• Hands-on experience on BLE Audio development.
• Additional knowledge of some IoT or other communication protocol stacks like Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, or Wi-Sun
